![]() Johnny Law will have less interest if these basic rules are adhered to. So make your siggies blink however you like. do you really think it matters what your signal is doing to her? Not one bit. That 17 year-old new driver/expert texter. Regardless if you have your blinker on or not. Regardless of whether or not you have stock signals or the fancy LED units from the Ducati Peformance catalog. are going to hit/not see you regardless of blinker frequency. The peeps that are going to hit you/not see you. And I act accordingly in order to prevent that. It has never happened because I expect every other vehicle on the road is going to hit me. It has nothing to do with whether I use my signal at all. The fact that I've never impacted a car? It has nothing to do with whether or not my turn signal blinks fast, slow or normal. The Man (po-po, 5-Oh, the Fuzz, Seattle's Finest, etc) has NEVER pulled me over for not using my turn signal. ![]() Or some ratty gixxer with a plate barely attached and has "integrated" genuine Chinese winkers (hey those are my peeps watch it!) that blink like a hungry hummingbird beats his wings. To a Duc 916 that some vain hipster tucked the rear sigs into the seat vents. That blink once every 2 seconds and stick out a foot if they do an inch. Blocky, chunky 80's era Honda Interceptor style, for example. With as many machines as we are talking about, there is a sizable variation in the type of turn signal. Never once have I impacted a car with any 2-wheeled motor driven device I was operating. In that time I have made literally tens of thousands successful lane changes. That is 3 decades of zooming in and around Seattlite cagers in Camrys, Malibus, F150's, Accords, Civics, 4-Runners, Metro buses, cop cars, ambulances, whatever. I've ridden 8 gajillion different bikes/scooters in the city in the last 30 years. At no point since then have I not owned a street bike. This is a person who rides street bikes (a lot) in Seattle city downtown metro traffic. Anything to jolt them to life in order to perhaps prevent them from running over/into a biker.Īt the end of the day, imo, I feel it is moot. The basic premise being that anything different in the turn signal world is more likely to attract the attention of otherwise brain dead motorists. Which is precisely what some riders feel is "safer". Turn indicators that flash with increased frequency certainly look different than ones with a more "normal" flash interval. Why don't they like it? In short, it could be said that I find any descriptive phrase/term with the word "stupid" as the primary or "this is what it is" word to be, ummm, stupid. ![]() I still have no idea what the person means other than they don't like it. Click to expand.I usually find that when something with many possible interpretations/opinions is described as "stupid".
